hmmm... not that i used eBay that much anyway, but I guess if they can't have all of my business, they don;t want any of my business.

There is a good reason for it, although they should broaden their options to allow bidders in. Paypal is a great way to have control over the auction. It helps prevent a lot of scams as paypal can hold onto the cash and in some cases will cover you. It is mostly for convenience sake for ebay and the sellers.
